Prodental is Here for You When You Need a Gentle Emergency Dentist

Emergency Dentist Melbourne
A dental emergency can occur at any time. At Prodental, our gentle dentist is here to help if you are experiencing any of the following issues.
Very sore tooth or gum
The source of pain could be different for each patient and finding and treating the source is the only way to get rid of it!
Broken or Chipped Teeth
Accidents happen and it can result in teeth being broken, chipped, and even knocked out. Before anything, stay calm and immediately call for help. If you have broken a tooth or lost a filling call Prodental immediately and we will try to see you before the end of the day.
If a permanent tooth or teeth have been knocked out, there is an excellent chance that they will survive if they are immediately placed back in the tooth socket if possible. If not, don’t panic, simply place the tooth in a glass of milk (never use water) and seek medical assistance immediately. Every minute the tooth is out of the socket, the less chance it has of surviving.
Sports Injuries and Trauma
Prevention is better than cure, so always wear a mouthguard, particularly if you play a contact sport. However, injuries are part of sports. if your tooth is dislodged or a part is broken call us as soon as you can. To ensure the tooth can be saved, put it in a glass of milk. Leave it in there to clean by itself and quickly seek dental help.
Abscess
An abscess will cause significant pain in and around the tooth, gums and jaw that could swell if left untreated. If you are experiencing pain when you bite or chew, it could be a sign of a tooth abscess that needs urgent treatment. The longer you leave it the more chances you have of developing facial swelling and other serious issues, which can lead to the extraction of the tooth.
Facial Swelling
If you are experiencing any form of swelling seek dental help immediately. Any infection that causes swelling of your face or fever must be addressed straight away by a dentist. The longer it is left, the worse the symptoms and the higher chance of serious complications and hospitalization so, don’t delay the issue.
In any case, getting you out of pain and comfortable is our immediate goal.

Broken Dentures
If you notice that teeth have separated from dentures or partials or the clasps or the plastic base has broken, it is an emergency. Call Prodental and, we’ll arrange to have your dentures or partials fixed. Depending on the severity of the damage, we can have the dentures repaired if it is repairable.
Lost or Broken Dental Crowns or Veneers
You may not consider it an emergency when you have a lost filling or crown, but it is as the tooth has lost its support and become weaker and prone to fracture. You may also experience teeth sensitivity which may lead to nerve damage. If you have lost or broken your dental crown or veneer, put it in a safe place and call for help. The sooner you call, the greater the chances of re-cementing the crown without having to make a new one.
